This is the most common “urban myth” the ATF will not show up to your house or residence to check for compliance.

Under federal law, it has never been illegal to own a silencer. If it is legal for you to buy a handgun, and you live in a state that allows ownership, then it is probably legal for you to own a silencer.

Element 115 Firearms ships all firearms and NFA items directly to the Federal Firearms License (FFL) dealer of your choice to ensure compliance with federal regulations. During checkout, you will find a designated area to enter your preferred FFL dealer’s information. To avoid any delays, you can also provide this information again in the note section as an added backup. Once your order is shipped, the FFL dealer will complete the required background checks and transfer procedures before the item can be released to you. 14% Fee: Applies to orders canceled where a serial number has been assigned. 
If ATF transfer started: Generally, no refunds or store credits. At our discretion, a store credit may be issued for the paid amount minus taxes and a 35% service fee.
